Brussels – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) last week (22/01) presented four recommendations on migration to the Government of Romania, which took the helm of Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) on 1 January 2019 for a six-month tenure. The recommendations focus on the migration dimension of EU’s next long-term budget, the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
IOM Romania delivered an outreach seminar regarding The Assisted Voluntary Return And Reintegration Programme (AVRR)
An outreach seminar regarding The Assisted Voluntary Humanitarian Return And Reintegration Programme (AVRR) project took place on 24th April 2018. This project addresses the migrants illegally located or whose residence has become illegal in Romania. It gives the migrants the possibility to return home with dignity and the opportunity to receive reintegration support in the country of origin.
On 8 June 2017, the International Organization for Migration, the Mission in Romania (IOM Romania) and the Schottener Social Services Foundation organized in Brasov an information seminar on the local integration process of refugees relocated under the project "STARRT I - Transfer and Assistance Services for Refugees Resettled from Turkey" funded by the National Program - Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (FAMI 16.05.01). The event was organized with the support of the Center for Migrants and took place at the Kronwell Hotel.

Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) session, organized in Istanbul, for the beneficiaries of the STARRT I resettlement programme, by IOM Romania in collaboration with IOM Turkey
Between 4-8 June 2017, IOM Romania in collaboration with IOM Turkey, organized a pre-departure orientation session for the 11 beneficiaries of the STARRT I programme, during which the participants were iinformed in regards to their new host country (culture, people, labour market, study options etc.).
